From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has already donated, and to everyone who has taken the time to share my story.
I never imagined I would one day have to ask for help just to keep fighting for my life. I have always believed I could face anything on my own, but cancer changes everything. Today, I have to admit that this battle is bigger than me.
As I write this, I am still going through chemotherapy. There are days when simply getting out of bed feels like climbing a mountain. The exhaustion is so overwhelming that even replying to a message can feel impossible. Yet every notification, every kind word, every donation, and every person who shares this page reminds me that I am not fighting this alone.
After speaking with my oncologist, there is now an opportunity that could change the course of my treatment. Alongside the chemotherapy I’m already receiving, there is a targeted therapy designed specifically for the genetic mutation driving my cancer. For the first time in a long time, I feel like there is genuine hope.
Sadly, this treatment is not yet available through the NHS. That means the only way I can access it is by funding it privately.
Every pound raised will go towards giving me that chance: funding this treatment, additional therapies to manage the cancer in my liver, and supporting me through what will undoubtedly be a long and incredibly difficult journey.
The hardest thing for me to say is that my cancer is incurable. There is no treatment that can take it away completely. But this treatment could give me something that means more to me than I can ever explain:
More time.
More time with my family.
More time to make memories.
More time to laugh, to talk, to hug the people I love, and to appreciate the moments that once seemed ordinary but now mean absolutely everything.
Today I was able to spend the day with my parents before returning home. It was a moment I will never forget. Seeing their smiles as they watched me leave the hospital meant more than words can describe.
At the same time, my heart breaks because my mum is fighting her own battle with leukaemia, a cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Despite everything she is going through, she has never stopped giving me strength. She has shown me what courage truly looks like and has been my inspiration every single day.
Knowing that this treatment is now within reach has given my family something we have desperately needed: hope.
If you are able to donate, no matter how small the amount, or even if you can simply share my story, you are giving me something money alone cannot buy—the chance to keep fighting and the chance to spend more precious time with the people I love.
Thank you for standing beside me during the hardest chapter of my life. Your kindness, generosity, and belief in me mean more than I could ever put into words.
With all my love,
Ross x
